There is no doubt that video games, as well as technology development, are one of entertaining ways in modern life. However, everything has two sides: besides good points, video games also affect children’s studies: distraction, aggressiveness and disobedience. I think children can be influenced badly by video games.
We know that when playing video games, due to the interesting of the game content, images or sounds… children will focus on them. Even when go out or doing something, children have tendency to be distracted: their minds belong to the video games they played yesterday or some days ago… So they cannot complete the task, the goal because of distraction.
Another attitude is aggressiveness, which can be explained that children, especially the young, easily become angry when being lost. They want to win the game, want to be admired by other friends in virtual world. The result is, there are many fighting, argument… between them.
The final character of children when playing video games is disobedience. What children do after school time? Normally, they will come home and do exercises or help parents’ house works. Due to attraction of video games, they try to go Internet coffee shop, video game center to play game. There is no one can persuade children go home at that time. Gradually, that we call disobedient children.
We must admit the benefit of video games in modern life. However, in some case, parents should pay attention to their children. Video games may affect children to become distraction, aggressiveness and disobedience. There are not the good points parents want. It is important to balance between playing video games and studying as well as taking part in outdoor activities.
